What does a Retail Sales Manager do?

As Retail Sales Managers, we manage the day-to-day operations of retail stores' sales departments. We ensure customer service representatives, store managers, and cashiers perform their duties to a high standard and that clients are satisfied with their shopping experience. We also interview, hire and train store employees involved in sales.

Core tasks:

  • monitoring the performance of existing retail sales staff
  • assigning duties to store sales staff
  • preparing sales staff roasters
  • answering tricky questions and resolve complaints that other sales staff are unable to solve to the customer's satisfaction
  • developing and maintaining retail store budgets
