About Risk Management Specialist

What does a Risk Management Specialist do?

We, as Risk Management Specialists, are responsible for Operational Risk, Operational Resilience, Governance and Controls, and Technology. We identify, categorize and assess risks. Through supervisory and monitoring activities, we oversee the risk management processes. We perform research and analysis. We also draft comprehensive conclusions and presents to diverse audiences. Serving as a technical expert, we oversee a broad range of supervisory issues within the department. By leveraging technical expertise, we drive supervisory direction for high-risk institutions. We lead examination teams to uncover risk exposures and risk management gaps. Oversee the assessment of the adequacy of risk management systems and procedures

Core tasks:

  • lead in the application of an integrated risk management approach
  • provide horizontal risk perspective
  • participate in the creation of complex assessments
  • identify the interrelationship and potential impact to other institutions or service providers
  • build and maintains strategic working relationships
  • serve as a mentor
  • provide technical or managerial guidance
  • train and help develop staff members
