Overview

We are seeking a Training Services Specialist to join our Caliber Public Safety team!
Caliber Public Safety is proud to deliver software solutions, technology and services of the highest caliber to hundreds of Public Safety agencies and communities throughout North America. Our specialized focus allows us to uniquely deliver the next generation of CAD, RMS, and Mobile applications to Public Safety agencies.

In the key role of Training Services Specialist, we rely on you to conduct client training for new and experienced users of Caliber Public Safety software. You will interact directly with our clients in live training sessions to ensure a smooth transfer of knowledge. You will conduct web training sessions and train internal staff.

A dynamic, well-spoken, patient individual, you are dedicated to providing outstanding client service, have a keen eye for detail and thrive on working in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Conventional hours for this role are 8am to 5pm with occasional Sunday travel and occasional extended workdays. The ideal candidate must be able to travel extensively throughout North America 65-75% of the time. While the rule is to get home every weekend, this position will only appeal to individuals who are comfortable with frequent travel.

Primary Functions:

  • Deliver training for new users of Caliber Public Safety software throughout all phases of implementation.
  • Work closely with our Project Managers to support clients through all phases of the project in a positive success-oriented manner.
  • Presents training using a variety of instructional techniques and formats.
  • Address client feedback and training questions received through training sessions or through other communication channels.
  • Facilitate client testing and validation of data, business processes and software modifications.
  • Provide ongoing On-The-Job-Learning assistance to client core teams and end users.
  • Provide outstanding customer service during the project to resolve client issues with proposed process improvements and timely follow-up support.
  • Develop training materials as needed for any Caliber Public Safety products.
  • Deliver upgrade training for existing clients and internal staff members.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 + years of experience training in an adult classroom setting.
  • Post-secondary education in Adult Education is an asset.
  • Instructional design experience, including curriculum development, creation of course materials and formulation of exercises for both instructor-led and eLearning approaches.
  • Superior oral, written and presentation skills.
  • 3 + years experience developing and delivering training material.
  • High level of problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience in developing and writing training exercises and other documentation is a distinct advantage.
  • Previous experience within the software or public safety sector preferred but not mandatory.

  • Select and assign instructors to conduct training.
  • Schedule classes based on availability of classrooms, equipment, or instructors.
  • Supervise, evaluate, or refer instructors to skill development classes.
  • Devise programs to develop executive potential among employees in lower-level positions.
  • Coordinate recruitment and placement of training program participants.
  • Develop or implement training programs related to efficiency, recycling, or other issues with environmental impacts.
  • Refer trainees to employer relations representatives, to locations offering job placement assistance, or to appropriate social services agencies if warranted.
