As Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA), we work with surgeons in the operating room by monitoring the patient vital signs and thus providing direct care to the patient. We play a role in the surgical processes by controlling bleeding, suturing incisions and wound, and also assist in case any complication arises. We have a responsibility to monitor the patient’s important signs ad in case we find the patient struggling, we immediately alert the physician to address the matter. We also check the patient before and after surgery, talk to the family members about the patient medical history.
