About Safety Director

What does a Safety Director do?

Working as Safety Directors, we develop and implement safety programs to reduce potential accidents and injuries for a company. We safeguard that safety policies are followed by all departments and employees. To make sure employees and the management understand safety requirements, we design and deliver training programs and presentations. We also conduct meetings to update the entire company on safety policies and any potential changes. Our job duties depend on the size of the staff, the number of workplaces and job sites, and the typical number of incidents/accidents of the company/industry. We must audit work processes and inspect work areas and job sites to identify safety hazards. Our tasks include reviewing incident reports, maintaining regulations, writing safety reports, analyzing safety programs and compliance. If an incident occurs, it is the Safety Director who coordinates with claims adjusters and investigators. We report to the upper-level management.

Core tasks:

  • development and implementation of safety programs
  • design and delivery of safety training programs
  • safeguarding and updating on safety policies
  • auditing work processes
  • inspecting work areas
  • reporting
