About Safety Engineer

What does a Safety Engineer do?

As safety engineers, our primary focus is on providing workers a safe environment to work in. This includes both physical as well as the mental environment. We spend a lot of time analyzing the environment in which employees are working in and we identify any environmental aspect that may prove to be hazardous for the workers. Additionally, some of us also recommend safety practices to supervisors so they can implement them in their workplace. Sometimes, due to the nature of the work, we have to collaborate with other staff working in departments like quality insurance, quality improvement, and engineering.

Core tasks:

  • providing a healthy environment to the workers
  • monitoring and implementing safety plans
  • collaborating with other departments to ensure safety practices are being taken
