About Safety Manager

What does a Safety Manager do?

As safety managers, we provide support and services related to safety across an organization. These include trainings, inspections, and investigations. We need to be familiar with all applicable regulatory requirements. It is our responsibility to ensure consistent compliance to them throughout the organization. We develop and oversee the implementations of company safety programs and policies. We are also in charge of the recruitment, training, and day-to-day management of the safety team.

Core tasks:

  • planning and implementing safety policies and programs
  • reviewing existing policies and procedures
  • developing safety training materials
  • providing health and safety orientation for new employees
  • conducting or facilitating safety trainings
  • advising employees on safety-related topics
  • enforcing preventive measures
  • performing safety inspections
  • participating in incident investigations
  • ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • conducting risk assessments
  • assisting in emergency response/providing First Aid treatment
  • preparing and presenting reports on accidents and root cause analyses
