Role Overview

Grassroots Cannabis is looking for a Sales and Marketing Coordinator to increase awareness and engagement with our brands across locations and channels in Illinois.

This is a critical role in a rapidly developing industry and market, requiring a driven, attentive partner for our fast-moving sales teams. You'll support our teams with a wide range of activities including sales reporting, customer support, and marketing execution.

Core Responsibilities

  • Reporting:
    Provide insights to sales and other internal stakeholder on product and customer high/mid/low performers, success drivers, and best practices. Track wholesale and retail competition regarding pricing, events, promotions, social media, etc.
  • Customer Support:
    Ensure our sales teams and our customers have what they need to be successful, including training and information, tools and educational materials, swag and branded merchandise. and rapid response when issues arise. Maintain inventories of swag and sales materials.
  • Marketing Execution:
    Execute product/strain launches and optimize awareness and sell-through of existing products. Ensure local marketing needs are met, including events, local digital and offline marketing, content and physical retail merchandising. Attend and or plan events as necessary.
  • Promotion:
    Assist in the development and management of the local promotional calendar. Manage corresponding marketing, sales and customer needs.

Role Requirements

  • Experience supporting the sales function in a retail industry
  • 2+ years of experience in marketing, sales, or retail operations
  • Ability to work outside of normal working hours
  • Ability to travel throughout the state on a regular basis
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

Tasks

  • Identify, develop, or evaluate marketing strategy, based on knowledge of establishment objectives, market characteristics, and cost and markup factors.

  • Confer with legal staff to resolve problems, such as copyright infringement or royalty sharing with outside producers or distributors.
  • Consult with buying personnel to gain advice regarding the types of products or services expected to be in demand.
