Headquartered in San Francisco, California, The San Francisco Chronicle is a newspaper serving the residents of the San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California. Founded in 1865, the newspaper was initially named The Daily Dramatic Chronicle by two teenage brothers Micheal H. D Young and Charles D. Young. Owned by the Hearst Corporation which bought the newspaper from the Young Brothers in 2000, it is the only newspaper that is covering the county and city of San Francisco’s latest happenings, news, reports, and more. The newspaper expanded and its distribution increased when San Francisco grew and the newspaper soon had the largest circulation on the West Coast of the United States by the year 1880. In the year 2013, the newspaper launched its own website of the same name, SFchronicle.com. The newspaper has won many accolades including the Pultizer Prize numerous times.
