About Scenic Artist

What does a Scenic Artist do?

As Scenic Artists, we are responsible for performing painting operations to make various designs using multiple coloring schemes. We develop painting schemes and techniques following designer recommendations. We also paint and finish all scenic elements such as preparing, texturing and applying. Participating in on-stage paint calls as required. We coordinate with other departments to overcome technical issues. We also mix paints to get desired colors. Working as Scenic Artists, we are responsible for maintaining the inventory of paints. We also assist in the maintenance and organization of shop materials and tools. Finally, we remain current with market trends to learn and implement painting techniques.

Core tasks:

  • attending the company's meeting to discuss technical difficulties
  • maintaining a safe and clean workplace
  • performing priming and sculpting operations as needed
  • managing painting activities within pre-established budgetary limits
