About School Counselor

What does a School Counselor do?

As School Counselors, we assist the students in their academic, social, and personal development. We conduct various assessments on students to measure their strengths and weaknesses. Listening to student concerns is also part of our duty. We also serve to resolve the conflicts of students that are interrupting their academic and life goals. Some of us counsel parents and teachers who are directly or indirectly affecting student's performance. We also present informational programs for the students. Working as School Counselors, we conduct aptitude tests to help staff in designing curriculum. Finally, we also share accurate but required information with schools and community workers.

  • assisting academic, social, and personal growth of students
  • counseling concerning authorities about student issues
  • conducting aptitude tests to measure student abilities
  • designing and implementing plans to combat abuse
