About Scribe

What does a Scribe do?

We, the scribers, assist physicians, assist them with medical documentation all through their shifts. We, the scribes, increase the productivity and efficiency of physicians by completing the clerical duties and essential documentation related to patient care. We anticipate the needs of physicians in a clinical setting. We prepare letters of referral for the physician through summary or dictation of the patients’ medical records. We also edit medical documents of physicians for errors.

Core tasks:

  • preparing reports, coordinating referrals, manning phones, and performing other clerical jobs
  • ensuring all the medical documentation is up-to-date, error-free, and signed-off by the attending physicians
  • assisting with the maintenance and development of patient tracking systems
