Security Manager

As security managers, our job is to create and implement safety and security policies for a company, coordinate its safety activities, and assess risks. Our function may concern the physical security and safety of employees, facilities, and assets, and/or IT security. We are responsible for ensuring that all security functions remain in compliance with legal and statutory obligations. We may also supervise a team of security professionals.

Core tasks:

• creating, documenting, and maintaining security management plans
• overseeing security management infrastructure
• providing guidance and assistance to new initiatives, ensuring appropriate levels of security are included
• supervisory duties, such as hiring, training, work assignment, performance evaluation
• conducting routine assessments and random inspections
• identifying and resolving security breaches
• providing risk mitigation recommendations
• preparing reports
• promoting worksite security through presentations, trainings, etc.
• participating in emergency management and contingency planning
