About SEM Specialist

What does a SEM Specialist do?

As SEM Specialists, we are responsible for delivering Search Engine Marketing, and Content Marketing campaigns. Our role is often mentioned as an equivalent to SEO Specialists, but there is a huge difference between SEM and SEO (Search Engine Optimization). SEO is an organic method, while SEM is a paid one. Generally speaking, our duty is to attract traffic on platforms, generating more revenue. We mainly focus on blog posts and the content strategy of a blog, but we also create strategies for social media captions, descriptions, or any other product-related text. So we research and leverage SEO and SEM tools to create the ideal content. As using the appropriate keywords in a text increases ranking, we master keyword research tools and techniques. These include on-page optimization, or Google Analytics setup. Also, we monitor web analysis, SEO Analysis, and administer search engine software. Accordingly, monitoring trends and competitor activity are two of the most important duties of ours. Also, some of us contribute to linkbuilding campaigns, analyzing user engagement. We know how to entertain, engage, and educate customers.

Core tasks:

  • writing articles and posts
  • delivering editorial tasks
  • conducting content audits
  • analyzing consumer needs
  • producing SEO blog posts in WordPress or similar platforms
  • optimizing texts after the drafts have been written
  • managing editorial schedules
  • building style guides that represent the brand’s vision and mission
