DescriptionThe Senior Business Intelligence Engineer solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer provides technical expertise, defines and applies the tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization's raw data in order to create insightful and actionable business information. You will provide technical expertise and apply insights to help bring Market needs to the forefront. This will support Customer Success in both clinical product adoption and strategic regional pharmacy focus. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer will also have accountability for serving as the CPO (Clinical Product Organization) analytic liaison across the organization and will provide analytical direction, and strategic consulting to the CPO.
- Acquires data from primary and secondary data sources and supports the development, implementation, and management of data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize clinical product data mining and analysis
- Work with business owners to gather reporting requirements to create reports which will support the business strategy
- Understand the customer need for information about the product to build reports and analytics to support the business strategy
- Interprets data, analyzing results using statistical techniques
- Perform deep-dive analysis into high-dollar disease states to identify trends and outliers
- Analytical support for product managers to identify optimization and opportunities
- Participate in data and analytic strategy and implementation discussions representing CPOs needs
- Perform market sizing and trending analysis to show the shifts over time to support the product lifecycle decisions
- Travel up to 25% - once a month in the beginning then more sporadic as time goes by
Role Essentials- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 5 or more years of technical experience in data analysis
- Ability to interview business owners to define the need/problem/desire of a request and understand how create reporting to drive value.
- Assist business leaders/stakeholders in understanding the story contained within or behind the data/report
- Must have the following experience in Microsoft Excel: pivot tables, charts, graphs, creating reports, importing and exporting data and v-lookups
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with Tableau and/or Qlikview
- Experience with data mining and visualization
- Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations
- Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction
- Proficiency in understanding Healthcare related data
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior and executive leadership
- Ability to determine accuracy of data and reasonableness of results and to identify and resolve errors
- Ability to manage ambiguity in performing ad-hoc analysis for key business partners
- Ability to suggest creative methods to enhance the effectiveness of processes and procedures
Role Desirables- Masters Degree with quantitative focus
- Experience with provider, pharmacy and medical claims data
- Power BI experience
- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of SAS programming
- Prior market experience
- Prior experience in retail Medicare markets
