Job Description We currently have an opening for a Senior Contacts Specialist in our Federal Group. This position will focus on ensuring compliance with both corporate policies and procedures as well as government regulations as defined in our contract requirements.
We are open to considering candidates who can work in one of our following offices: Fairfax, VA; Chicago, IL; Denver, CO; Seattle, WA; or Kansas City, MO.
Job Description:
The Senior Contracts Specialist supports all stages of the project lifecycle including cost proposal preparation, execution, and closeout for moderate to complex federal government projects.
Coordinates or performs contract administration tasks related to monitoring compliance, performance, and progress.
Monitors and maintains project contracts and purchase forms for complex contracts. Performs all contract administration functions using independent evaluation, judgment, selection and adaptation/modification of standard techniques and procedures with little oversight.
Projects may include construction and design/build.
Reviews documents such as teaming agreements, solicitations/RFPs, and contracts for risk issues and coordinates with others on those reviews.
Performs in-depth reviews of project cost and budget reports and teams with the project management team to avoid and mitigate problems.
Prepares cost proposals and related documents for new and existing contracts and delivery orders based on company policies and procedures and federal law and regulations.
Negotiates with clients on the specifications of potential or actual contract practices of a complex nature.
May prepare supplemental terms and conditions and flow down clauses for subcontracts.
Confers with technical staff and project management on issues such as desirability of work, terms and conditions, which may involve discussions of more complex issues (government property, insurance, COI) and resolution of contract disputes.
Advises management and staff on strategies to maximize profit.
Performs contract reviews or audits including such activities as variances or errors, ambiguous or undefined contract terms, and compliance with terms and conditions.
Prepares representations, certifications and proposal documents including cost or pricing data compliant submittals.
May have responsibilities to train, set performance goals and provide feedback to junior staff.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
4 years of related contracts, finance, or procurement experience.
Preferred Qualifications Previous federal contracts experience, strongly desired.
Demonstrated knowledge of (FAR) Federal Acquisition Regulations, strongly desired.
Previous experience with task-order pricing federal contracts.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
One of the following Contracts certifications; CFCM (Certified Federal Contracts Manager) or CPCM (Certified Professional Contracts Manager).
Previous experience managing contracts for complex (civil/environmental) engineering services.
