About Senior IT Specialist

What does a Senior IT Specialist do?

As Senior IT Specialists, we collaborate with local management and department leaders. We manage to assess near- and long-term technology needs. We implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans. We assist in network administration, usage, and disaster recovery. We are also responsible for analyzing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems. We develop and implement strategies for improving and further leveraging these systems. We collaborate with IT outsourcing provider to resolve local end user and IT environment issues.

Core tasks:

  • define business requirements and systems goals
  • identify and resolve business systems issues
  • perform server and security audits, system backup procedures
  • monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed
  • integrate servers, including database, print, e-mail, backup servers
  • collaborate with end-users and prepare for Audit and SOX compliance
  • communicate with customers to document resolutions
  • create and maintain documentation
  • provide guidance to solve escalated issues for IT Specialists on the team
