Job Description

Sunshine Enterprise USA is seeking a SVP of Multicultural and Community Development for Broward County, Florida. The primary responsibility of this employee will be to oversee and manage all aspects of marketing and initiatives for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitor's Bureau. He or she will also assist in implementing a capital improvement program, serve as a liaison with other County agencies, and the development and implementation of other relevant programs as needed or determined.

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field.
• Ten (10) years of progressive experience in leading a convention/group sales department, including at least four (4) years of high level supervisory and administrative (or closely related) experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Under the supervision of the CEO/President, develops multicultural and community outreach initiatives to measurably increase tourist visitation and spending in Broward County, Florida. This leadership position will provide key assistance in the development and implementation of the three (3) core plans that guide tourist development within the Convention/Visitor's Bureau:

1. An inclusive community tourism plan that seeks to drive community-wide developments that support the tourism industry

2. A multi-year strategic plan specific to the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitor's Bureau that guides long-term strategies to responsibly increase and maintain visitation

3. An annual business and marketing plan organizing tactics necessary to achieve the strategic plan objectives
• Manages relationships with municipal, community and business leaders, understanding the significance of creating genuine relationships to further promote the mission and generate revenue from private sources. Utilizes and enhances existing and new relationships by converting tourism related feedback and city/community needs into actions.
• Manages multicultural initiatives that create an inclusive tourism environment within Broward County; this work will include promoting the use of tourism sponsorships, the development of popular tourist events, and showcasing the various cultures in the County.
• Assists/liaises other County departments when their businesses require community outreach. Duties to include connecting contacts, networking, and working with Marketing and Communications to craft relevant and effective talking points.
• These functions represent the majority of the time spent working in this position; other duties and functions may be assigned as identified and necessary.

• Adaptable and willing to implement change; community relations for a destination marketing organization is dynamic and requires creative flexibility
• A willingness to assist in various emergency functions before, during and after a disaster. All County employees become emergency workers in the event of disaster (hurricanes, etc). This includes but is not limited to working at a general population shelter during a hurricane.
