What does a Service Desk Analyst do?

As Service Desk Analysts, our primary tasks include providing technical support to users experiencing issues with their IT systems, troubleshooting hardware and software problems, and ensuring efficient resolution of user tickets. We use various IT service management tools to log and manage incidents and requests. We also play a key role in maintaining and updating the knowledge base articles to help users troubleshoot common issues. Additionally, we may assist in system upgrades, software installations, and ensuring compliance with service level agreements.

Core tasks:

  • Responding to and resolving user inquiries and issues via phone, email, or chat
  • Managing and prioritizing service desk tickets using IT service management tools
  • Providing remote support to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems
