The Shipping & Receiving Assistant I verifies that materials received match those ordered in both type and quantity; routes incoming items to the appropriate department, storerooms or other location; prepares and maintains shipping records; participates in the preparation, assembly, and/or shipping of outgoing merchandise or material; rejects damaged goods or materials and corresponds with shipper to adjust damages or shortages.
This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Prepares and maintains shipping records. Participates in the preparation, assembly, and/or shipping of outgoing merchandise or material.
Verifies correctness of incoming shipments against bills of lading, maintains record of goods received.
Inspects and reconciles goods. Rejects damaged goods or materials and corresponds with shipper to adjust damages or shortages.
Routes incoming goods to proper department.
Assists in re-checks, verifications, and cycle counts.
Participates in safety and 5S requirements.

Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent required
Basic computer skills required
Two (1) year of warehouse experience
Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures.
Ability to write legibly
Must have basic math skills
Must have attention to detail
Data entry skills and 10 key
Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner
