BRIEF:

The Social & Digital Marketing Specialist will support the Marketing Manager in all marketing efforts as they relate to the promotion of BMW of Manhattan, Inc., and its family of dealers.

This position requires high-level knowledge of current social media platforms & trends, as well as a solid understanding of digital systems, as they pertain to website infrastructures. The social platforms currently being used by BMW of Manhattan, Inc and its subsidiaries include Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and TikTok. A capacity to learn new digital systems as they relate to the various departments within the dealership is also required. These systems include (but are not limited to) inventory control, WordPress websites, BMW’s DealerSpeed, GoogleMyBusiness and others.

Basic knowledge of photography and videography is preferred. And an understanding of Adobe Creative Suite is a valuable plus, specifically Photoshop and Illustrator. Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft 365 collection of applications, including but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint is a must.

Automotive experience is preferred. Knowledge and understanding of the BMW brand, its ethos, its products, and its subsidiaries, is a definite plus.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written are an absolute must. These skills will be utilized across multiple communication platforms. These platforms include, but are not limited to, captions & descriptions for social media posts, press releases, vehicle descriptions, presentations, client-facing emails, internal emails, and online review responses.

The successful candidate must possess the ability to work in a busy, high-pressure, and fast-paced environment.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Support the Marketing Manager in the creation and implementation of all Marketing tasks for the BMW of Manhattan, Inc family of dealerships, which includes BMW of Manhattan, BMW of Manhattan Motorrad and MINI of Manhattan.

  • Manage brand websites (BMWNYC.com, MININYC.com, BMWNYCMOTORRAD.com)
    • Ensure sites maintain Corporate Image guidelines
    • Ensure dealer-centric SEO content is up-to-date and accurate
    • Work directly with website providers to ensure accuracy of vehicle inventory listings, sales offers/incentives, product specifications and all marketing content.
    • Content Creation
      • Create custom web slides and landing pages.
    • Update monthly sales incentives
  • Manage Social Media Accounts
    • Build and execute social media strategies across multiple platforms including, but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn.
    • Develop paid social media campaigns and ensure they are executed properly and delivered on-time.
    • Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights, and best practices, and then act on the information to further enhance active in-market strategies.
    • Review competitive social media content continuously bench-marking other top social media brands and recommending optimizations.
    • Generate, edit, publish, and share relevant content daily.
    • Constantly review and moderate conversations with customers on social channels to ensure that brand reputations are strong.
    • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the BMW, MINI and Motorrad retail and service teams to stay well informed and knowledgeable of the newest products and technologies.
    • Special projects as assigned.
  • Coordinate with Department Managers across all brands to develop monthly sales and service specials

    • Service Email assets
      • Work with department managers to create monthly specials
      • Create individual assets for website & email marketing
      • Coordinate with Service Marketing Agency to create & implement effective email marketing campaign
    • Sales Email assets
      • Work with Marketing Director & Department Sales Managers on implementing new sales initiatives
      • Create individual assets for website & email marketing

Summary of Qualifications:

  • Three to five years’ experience as a marketing and/or social media Account Coordinator/Executive is required. Retail environment experience strongly preferred.
  • B.A or B.S degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field is preferred.  
  • Proven work experience in the digital and social media space with strong knowledge of working technologies.
  • The ability to leverage trends to help the dealership succeed in staying ahead of the curve.
  • Video and photography experience, including Photoshop is preferred.  
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical and project management skills.
  • Strong understanding of digital and social analytics.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, and work under pressure to meet continuous deadlines.
  • Professional demeanor and the ability to interact successfully with all teams across multiple seniority levels.
