About Social Services Designee

What does a Social Services Designee do?

As Social Services Designees, we are responsible for providing care and support to residents of care facilities. It is our prime duty to listen to the concerns of residents and try to resolve them. We work on provision of basic needs to residents. We also develop Social Services plan to ensure quality service to residents. Evaluation of such Social Services plan is also a part of out duty. We conduct admission interviews and brief the resident and their families about their rights. We serve as an advocate for residents with social services organization. It is our duty to inform medical staff and call for medial services if a resident requires it.

Core tasks:

  • prepare and evaluate Social Services programs
  • provide assistance to residents in provision of basic needs
  • schedule medical appointment and services if resident requires it
  • conduct interviews with residents for admission and inform them and their families about their rights
