About Social Services Director

What does a Social Services Director do?

As Social Services Directors, we plan, develop, organize, implement, and direct the facility's social service program. We assist in the development, administering, and coordinating of department policies and procedures. We review department policies and procedures and participate in making recommended changes.

Core tasks:

  • establishing and applying policies and procedures for the identification of social and emotional requirements of the resident
  • participating in community planning related to the interests of the facility
  • performing administrative requirements such as completing required forms and reports
  • assisting in arranging transportation to other facilities when required
  • coordinating social services activities with other departments as required
