About Sourcing Specialist

What does a Sourcing Specialist do?

As Sourcing Specialists, we are responsible for purchasing materials and services following organizational requirements. We assist in researching domestic and international potential suppliers. We select procurement sources as per the company’s needs. Developing sourcing and negotiating strategies is also part of our duty. We implement these strategies to achieve long-term and short-term saving targets. We also serve to execute agreements based on negotiations. Working as Sourcing Specialists, we are responsible for managing and engaging with suppliers to achieve organizational objectives. We issue purchase orders to the appropriate vendors. Finally, we ensure the compliance of all vendors with regulatory guidelines and policies.

Core tasks:

  • selecting domestic and international procurement sources
  • tracking orders to ensure delivery as per agreed terms
  • ensuring implementation of standards and guidelines
  • collecting and recording data for capital purchases and inventory control
