About the Company
SpaceX is an American aerospace manufacturing company founded by Elon Musk in 2002, with the goal of reducing space transportation costs to enable the colonization of Mars. Various launch vehicles such as the Starlink Satellite constellation, the Dragon Cargo Spacecraft and flown humans are launched by the company to the International Space Station on the Crew Dragon Demo-2. SpaceX launched two NASA astronauts successfully on May 30, 2020 into orbit on a Crew Dragon spacecraft during Crew Dragon Demo-2 making it the first private company to send astronauts to the International Space Station. The main goal of the company is to develop a rapidly reusable launch system. There are many achievements to be counted for SpaceX which includes sending the first privately funded liquid-fueled rocket to reach orbit on September 28, 2008, to launch, orbit and recover a spacecraft on December 9, 2010 and many more. It is the only private company which can return a spacecraft from low-Earth orbit.
