About Special Education Coordinator

What does a Special Education Coordinator do?

As special education teachers, we are responsible for working with other staff in developing curricular resources. In addition to that, we are also responsible for making budgets and organizing special education programs and events. Moreover, we have to implement the curriculum established by the state. Being special education teachers, we have to hire new employees and improve the outcome of the work. Also, we perform presentations in meetings and provide proper training to teaching staff members. Our job requires us to be strong in decision-making and public relations.

Core tasks:

  • supervising the cases of special education students
  • following all the instructions given by the school established according to local and federal laws
  • coordinating with special education crew to organize programs to facilitate students
