Questions about this job listing? Contact the recruiter now. Nationally recognized insurance company is seeking a Splunk engineer to work in their downtown Columbus headquarters. This position will work closely with our business partners and technical leads to ensure solutions meet both functional and non-functional requirements as well as meet the service level objectives for the documented/requested use cases.
The successful candidate should have experience consulting IT partners to scope, develop and deploy new solutions. Additional duties include manageability and day to day support of Big Data & Analytics platforms and supporting technologies. Proven expertise in the following areas is required:
Splunk or any other Search analytics tools
Architecting / implementing next generation data and analytics platforms on AWS cloud
Must have strong Linux system administration and engineering skills; must be very comfortable administering servers from the command line and working with configuration files. (Automation, Python, CentOS 7/RHEL 7)
Strong skills with a scripting language; Python preferred
Comfortable working with bash, PowerShell, and batch scripts; ability to develop scripts in these languages to support Splunk deployments
Ability to explore, develop, and certify new big data capabilities
Ability to create technical documentation for new capabilities
Expertise in the following areas is desired:
Experience with other Analytics tools like BusinessObjects, WebFocus, Microstrategy or Tableau
Experience with shell scripts and automation (Python, BASH etc.)
Experience upgrading, versioning, change control and problem management
Experience with supporting and maintaining open source environments, DevOps
Experience with evaluating and implementing security technologies and policies that meet security standards and controls.
Education / Certification Requirements:
Current Splunk Certified Architect Certification required; Splunk Accredited Engineer (formerly Splunk Certified Consultant II) highly desired
7+ years experience in a technical IT position involving systems administration and/or systems engineering
Bachelors degree in related IT field, or equivalent experience
