About Sports Medicine Physician

What does a Sports Medicine Physician do?

As Sports Medicine Physicians, we are tasked with providing comprehensive diagnoses and treatment of activity or sports-related injuries and use various manual techniques to prevent and treat muscular and skeletal injuries. We administer and spray local anesthesia to injured areas to help the athlete cope with the pain and coordinate with the transportation department to transfer the athlete to the nearest clinic. We also schedule post-traumatic rehabilitation sessions with injured athletes to help them regain full control of their bodies before developing any long-term damage. We interpret various tests results such as X-rays to determine any potential bone damage and assess its severity

Core tasks:

  • educate and counsel athletes on how to deal with their injury
  • provide nutritional guidance to assist them with the rehabilitative process
