Abile Group has an exciting and challenging opportunity for an SQL Infrastructure Administrator supporting an Intelligence Community Customer.
The right candidate will possess the below skills and qualifications and be ready to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally.
SQL Infrastructure Administrator with experience in the support of a SQL based architecture as a foundation for a large data warehouse.
Your role as the SQL Infrastructure Administrator will be to work with the SQL Infrastructure Architect and other team members to collect requirements, perform baseline performance captures, patch and stay in-compliance with all IAVA requirements within the Agency as well as support any Tier 1 / 2 aspects with SQL inside Amazons JWICS version of AWS, called Commercial Cloud Service, or C2S.
Clearance Required: TS/SCI
Required Degree and Experience: Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of experience
Knowledge in Supporting a multi-node SQL Always-On Cluster to include a decent understanding of Distributed Availability Groups (DAGs)
Understanding of Quorum types within a Windows Failover Cluster environment
Understanding of Backup and Restore procedures and supporting the creation of plans to include Full Backups, Transaction Log Backups, Differential Backups along with the ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures in the restoration of Databases.
Understanding of Database MDF file structure including the support of data across multiple MDF files, understanding of the concept of pre-sizing database best practices, and measuring performance attributes for this type of design
Decent understanding in multiple SQL products including SSIS and SSRS and how to monitor and troubleshoot with guidance those technologies throughout the week.
Knowledge in monitoring and providing fast resolution for outages which requires a solid understanding of Microsoft Windows Server, Networking, Active Directory, Kerberos,
Service Principle Names, Service Account Permissions in a least administrative model.
Entry Level or higher understanding of AWS, VPC Design / Setup including VPC Peering, Security Groups, Network ACLs, the ability to strategically select & deploy EC2 Instances, creation of EBS Storage Volumes and selecting what type of storage makes the most sense along with an understanding of how to use S3/Glacier for backup and retention policies to meet agency needs.
IAVA Patching and Compliance and the ability to work with customers including Government end users to plan and schedule maintenance
Setup and Design of large SQL Always-On Clusters
Setup and Design of SSIS and SSRS topologies to provide high availability
Datawarehouse Knowledge including the creation of schemas, tables, and deployment packages to support a large SQL Datawarehouse
SSIS ETL knowledge including parsing ETL packages and using data-transformation best-practices to standardize and create a cross-agency usable schema
T-SQL knowledge to include the creation of scripts, views that can be leveraged in the overall architecture within SSRS, SSIS, or other areas.
