Focus: Quantitative and qualitative analysis of language and its application to marketing and business This is a great opportunity to join a growing, hard-working, fun-loving team of researchers and analysts. You will be responsible for conducting quantitative linguistic research and analyses, producing compelling and insightful reports, helping build new linguistic products and providing actionable marketing recommendations for several of our core clients. Role/Responsibilities: Conduct quantitative market research studies using linguistic/textual data and build compelling reports to tell the data’s story, helping to drive marketing, performance and business strategy for our clients Collect, clean and merge unstructured data from multiple linguistic data sources (particularly from search engines, social platforms, interviews, call logs and web content) to make ready for analysis Processing unstructured data using various NLP techniques, specifically: document clustering, topic extraction, named entity recognition, parts-of-speech tagging, relationship extraction and sentiment analysis using Domain Specific Corpora Work closely with the Director of Linguistics to grow our Linguistics practice by building new solutions, creating case studies and supporting on new business pitches Work with our regional offices on in language analyses as needed Learn the existing client data architecture, add new sustainable datasets to the ecosystem using APIs and SQL based on business specifications. Relentlessly pursue data quality and standardization with a focus on exceeding all client and partner expectations, building relationships with the business. Understand data visualization and build visuals to tell stories with data. Communicate with users at all skill levels and management levels, understanding technology needs, database needs and business needs with the ability to translate to API and database actions. Have the ability to pivot and change priorities very quickly, reacting and adapting to digital platform changes and ensuring data flows properly pre+post updates. Manage and execute projects as defined throughout engagement Prepare and present client-facing deliverables on a regular basis Have the ability to pivot and change priorities very quickly, reacting and adapting to digital platform changes and ensuring data flows properly for social requirements
Required Skills 2 - 3 years of experience doing Natural Language Processing (NLP) Strong Python skills Preferred programming skills and tools: NLTK, Apache OpenNLP, C++ Strong understanding of data management systems, both structured and unstructured Entrepreneurial and self-starter mentality Strong communication and presenting skills
B.A. in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics or a quantitative degree in another social science Multi lingual (Spanish or Chinese) experience a plus
Knowledge and experience with two or more of the following: Databases Management Data modeling Database architecture ETL Processing Data Integration (API Connections and Querying)
Business Intelligence Platforms: Tableau, DOMO, Birst, Microsoft Power BI, etc
