About Staffing Supervisor

What does a Staffing Supervisor do?

As staffing supervisors, we may work for a staffing firm or at the HR department of an organization.

In the former case, we manage a team of staffing specialists who participate in recruiting, interviewing, matching, and placing candidates. We are responsible for account management, inside sales calls, obtaining job orders, and client penetration/retention. We assess our client's requirements, create job orders, and make sure candidates are appropriately matched.

Some of us work in the HR department of an organization, such as a healthcare facility or as a retail store. Our job is to develop and manage employee work schedules, time off requests, and coverage for absences and mandates. Our goal is to ensure that our assigned facility is appropriately staffed at all times. We also manage candidate sourcing, interview scheduling, new hire paperwork, and other administrative tasks. We build work schedules, handle payroll, and support the leadership team in achieving compliance to regulations and KPI results.

Core tasks:

  • supervising a team of staffing specialists
  • liaising with client
  • managing end-to-end processes related to recruitment
