The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) is a public health preparedness and emergency response organization in the Office of the Secretary at the United States Department of Health and Human Services. ASPR was created under the Pandemic and All Hazards Preparedness Act in the wake of Hurricane Katrina to lead the nation in preventing, preparing for, and responding to the adverse health effects of public health emergencies and disasters.
The Office of Security, Intel, Information Management (SIIM), in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response, DHHS, is home to the Information Management Division (IMD) (serves as the information coordination entity in steady state and emergency events) and Division of Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) (leads a public and private sector partnership in protecting the essential goods, services, and functions of healthcare and public health that, if disrupted would negatively impact the Nation). CIP operates this partnership under the authority of Presidential Policy Directive 21 (replacing HSPD-7); the National Infrastructure Protection Plan (NIPP), which provides the operational framework for all 16 sectors, including the HPH Sector; and the HPH Sector-Specific Plan Annex, which provides a more detailed guidance.
This is a full time position with Aveshka supporting the Office of Security, Intel, Information Management in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response at the Department of Health and Human Services. This position sits within the SIIM Division of Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP).
Prepare and disseminate regular partner communication bulletins (e.g., newsletters and blog posts).
Incorporate Division projects and activities into overall communication products for sharing internal and external partners.
Develop mechanisms for engagement opportunities to share with internal and external partners.
Identify potential actions and opportunities for developing new partnerships within the public and private sectors.
Other tasks as assigned.
Required Education: Graduate degree or equivalent experience. Required Experience: 4-6 years experience. Required Clearance: Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance. Desired Qualifications: Working knowledge of governmental public health systems and of emergency public health preparedness. About Aveshka
