Star Bucks Coffee Company Reviews and Ratings
Store Manager/General Manager
Fort Worth, TX - December 10, 2024
I’ve been the general manager of 2 separate companies before Starbucks. Both of which I enjoyed and felt comfortable and was given the capacity to ultimately succeed. Not Starbucks. I was attracted to Starbucks for its “third place” a place where anyone can feel like they belong. I applied quicker than the company I had been working for would have liked. I wish I’d known that “third place” applied to only those within the company, most familiar with its structure. I was an external hire, and branded (treated) as such. My training store GM had just been promoted and invested very little into my development. I pushed. Because that is who I am. Once granted my own store, not only did I surpass all financial expectations, I was the ONLY store to hit the RMIP target. But I was ostracised by every one within. Never given the chance to be comfortable. Constantly criticised for “not learning Starbucks fast enough.” If you are outside of the company, I hesitate to recommend this place.
Pros and Cons
Discount on coffee, and that’s it
Terrible treatment of anyone “externally” hired. Run

Started out part time. Moved up to an open shift. Great place to meet & practice people skills. Became team leader some hating but I got the job done & weeded out all the garbage. Integrity in question. Fired an employee for multiple stealing. Yet was able to transfer to another store. I told the manager @ multiple incidents but they still hired her.
Pros and Cons
Advancement
Lots of call outs. Mostly college students

Starbucks Coffee Company pours a lot of coffee and a lot of love! This company made me feel cared for, included in community, and celebrated. Always encouraging each other to grow personally and professionally, as partners, we never failed to enjoy our shifts and make the most of the little moments. It was a joy to share "That First Sip" feeling and add a little brightness to every customer's day. Starbucks is a big supporter of you reaching your personal and professional goals while maintaining good work/life balance. I left the company with positive experience and good memories.
Pros and Cons
Tuition coverage through Arizona State University, and free coffee and food!
Shared tips ;P

Starbucks is a great first job to have especially for Juniors and Seniors in highschool and kids going to college. No matter where they start they will develop excellent leadership skills along with strong work ethic. Not to mention they will be able to invest in their future with 401k and stock purchase plans. Down side is when you want to move up your work life balance is turned upside down. There is no respect for time and you as a person. There is a get with it or get lost attitude from upper management, there really isn’t unity like they try to portray. I was wrongfully terminated one count being that I came to work with covid when I did not. When HR did their “research” I was told. Oh well your District Manager can fire at her descretion. I was with the company for 12 years and 11 month.
Pros and Cons
401k, health benefits, discounts, some friends you make
The culture is fake as hell, you’re stressed all the time and alway short staffed no 1 wants to work
