About Storage Administrator

What does a Storage Administrator do?

As Storage Administrators, we manage the disk and tape systems within the company. We design and develop a storage management program, and provide routine backups. We install, configure, and maintain storage backup for every data type. We ensure the configuration of NetBackup customer software on windows systems. Working as Storage Administrators, we perform installation and configuration services. Administrating Brocade director FC switches and blade chassis FC devices are part of our responsibilities. We also provide architecture and performance recommendations to DBAs and Ops.

Core tasks:

  • conducting bottleneck evaluation
  • ensuring backup methods
  • develop records for storage and FC systems
  • coordinate with DBAs to assure optimum storage usage
