What does a Supervisor do?

As supervisors, we are responsible for the productivity and actions for a group of employees. We assist with the delivery of daily operations through training, supervision, and team building, but we usually do not have authority to make budget and personnel decisions. You can find us in a wide variety of industries, and our daily duties depend on the industry/business unit we work in. We usually need to have relevant industry experience, and to be familiar with company policies and workflows. For this reason we are usually promoted from within.

  • monitoring and supervising the timely arrival of scheduled employees
  • establishing tasks for employees
  • ensuring training for employees
  • ensuring workplace cleanliness and sufficient supplies
