What does a Supply Chain Program Manager do?

As supply chain program managers, we develop, drive, and implement supply chain transformation and improvement projects. We act as a liaison between the supply chain organization and internal stakeholders. We translate their business requirements into value propositions. We also work together with all supply chain domains to identify gaps and drive improvements. We usually have a strong background in supply chain processes ourselves, as well as experience in project management and solutions implementation.

Core tasks:

  • developing supply chain strategy
  • developing scalable business processes to drive better decisions in supply chain management
  • designing cost management, returns management, performance metrics, supplier selection, etc. processes
  • defining supplier KPIs
  • managing project timelines
  • interfacing with cross-functional stakeholders
  • tracking program status and providing updates to executive team
