About Surgical Technologist

What does a Surgical Technologist do?

As Surgical Technologists, our primary tasks include assisting surgeons during operations and ensuring the surgical environment is sterile. We prepare and organize the operating room with necessary surgical instruments and equipment. We also assist with the safe transfer of patients to and from the operating room. To maintain a sterile field, we handle instruments and supplies during surgery, ensuring surgeons have what they need when they need it. Post-operatively, we help in the surgical suite's cleanup and prepare for subsequent surgeries.

Core tasks:

  • Preparing the operating room by arranging surgical instruments and equipment
  • Assisting in patient transfer and positioning
  • Maintaining a sterile environment during surgery
  • Handing instruments and supplies to surgeons during operations
  • Cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments post-operation
