SWBC Company Reviews and Ratings
Accountant
San Antonio, TX - June 12, 2024
The team i had worked with were great, until you make one mistake, then you'll never hear the end of it. You will never get the chance to correct it, or rather, given the chance to do what you did incorrectly again. What else can I say, its a typical corporate office that really doesn't care about your well being. We HAD the ability to work from home, not anymore. Corporate thought our leashes were too long and wanted to tighten their grip. No room for growth unless you get a CPA.
Pros and Cons
Work events(where managment pretends they care about you)
Poor work life balance, NO work from home/hybrid options, poor management

SWBC touts lots of internal opportunities. And, that's true. Over the time I worked for the company, I watched people go from Manager to Senior VP or even Executive VP. I also watched people, myself included, move from one department to another where prior experience was less important than work ethic. The company is big on training. And, generally speaking, I believe they pay pretty well, and the company generally is pretty well insulated against financial ups and downs in the marketplace.
The one thing that is typical of any large company is this: If your manager likes you, you will do well. If your manager takes a dislike to you, crisp up your resume, because a smart manager will find a thousand things wrong with everything you do, they'll document it, and before you know it, you'll be on the outside looking in. As one of my former bosses (not here) said, "The one with the most documentation wins."
Once a workplace becomes toxic, is it really worth the effort?
Pros and Cons
Friendly people who work together for the betterment of the company, employees, and clients.
Your job is only as secure as your boss's mood on any given day.

This company claims that they will give you flexible hours but what they don’t reveal in training is that when they send you home with your equipment and after the meeting on Microsoft team that you’ll be working 1 PM to 11 PM and most of the days are going to be Mandatory hours the last class that I was with with a group of 30 to 40 people only two are working for them that’s how bad this company is and they’re not flexible with your hours they’re only gonna be flexible with your hours when you’ve worked with them for six months after doing the 1 PM to 11 PM shift and that’s even if they have a position open for availability that you request so it’s not guaranteed afterwards
Pros and Cons
