About Swim Coach

What does a Swim Coach do?

As Swim Coaches, we teach and train adults and children to swim in schools, swimming clubs, community centers, summer camps, or college swimming pools. We work on perfecting confirmed swimmers breathing techniques and swim speed. We develop individualized swimming programs to educate swimmers on various techniques and oversee their training after determining each athlete's abilities and skill levels. We teach brand new swimmers, swimming styles, or strokes, using different activities to improve water confidence while recording training sessions to analyze strokes and techniques to monitor progress.

Core tasks:

  • ensuring the pool or training area is clean, well-maintained, and free of hazards
  • scouting swimmers and preparing teams and individuals for swim meets
  • placing performance over results and being able to motivate and inspire
