You can work from home and make hourly money. There is allot of support in chat and I really enjoyed working from home. My only compliant is that when our program was at it's end we didn't all get secure jobs to move to.

Worked here off and on for years. They tell stories, expect you to dedicate your entire life to them, yet you get nothing but a meager paycheck in return. Pay isn't even all that great. HR is made of 2 people and no matter who does what, you are always somehow the blame. They will randomly let people go and will pull your job out from under you. This place needs to be your LAST resort.

Really enjoyed being a Customer Service Agent for Sykes/TurboTax. Working from home was extremely convenient and financially valuable with gas prices going up so dramatically. Learned a lot about the IRS, taxes and how to handle myself when customers were upset. In many cases it was all about informing and guiding them through preparing their returns, extensions or amendments. Received two performance bonuses along the way. Unfortunately, call volume plummeted. Was offered a transfer but was unable to accept because I can only commit to part time hours.

We were all mass laid off 2 weeks before graduating our training class. Randomly, no given reason. Sykes said they’d place us in a different job and not to worry. I got placed with something totally opposite of what I originally was doing and I couldn’t decline that offer or I’d be permanently fired. Pay was $13 an hour to learn a CRAP ton of material. Not to mention the managers treated us like we were stupid and unwanted.

I enjoyed the little time I worked at SYKES it was a fun learning experience getting the feel of working in a tall building and actually working in a call center for big companies. However, the training people were pushing us too hard to be prefect on the phones telling us how to say certain stuff how they would say it when we were just learning.

This is one of the best companies I’ve ever worked for the people are wonderful the culture is wonderful I was very sorry to see it end due to a business acquisition my job was eliminated in the company was dissolved. It was a wonderful 19 years that I will treasure for the rest of my life

I absolutely loved my job and cx, just don't understand the people in position. They give you all the info in training, true, but once you finally get on the floor it's gets overwhelming. You would think that your first week of calls, they'd be help. My 3rd day on calls, a 3 minute call turned into 2 and a half hours and every two minutes I would ask my tl to either view my screen for help or take the call since the cx was asking for a supervisor and I didn't have the proper training to care for what he needed. The tl would either skip over my plea or reply back to go look in notes. I ended up learning diff things on my own from my department and many others so I wouldn't ever have to go through that again. In the end, I didn't help the cx since I had no knowledge in what they were needing. And I also understand the need to stay within a specific call time frame but for me to get wrote up based on the elderly cx who still wants to talk after I've gave my closing many times..........

Pros and Cons
Software is easy and very catchy. Cx are amazing. Pay is good and so are benefits and incentives
I was fired a week and didn't know it. They didn't even have a termination date.

I worked here for a while last year, and my dad died while I was on my last day of training. I received assistance with requesting bereavement leave, and was denied. I had to resign. I was told that I could come back after everything was done, however that was a lie. It was an unnecessary lie.

I had worked at Sykes, they are more focused on their business instead of really helping the employee get ahead. They have certain groups of people who receive more recognition than the employees who first start out. They have no compassion for family if an illness arises. The managers there have their favorite people. They have a high turnover of employees because they don't focus on the employees, they are just more focused on getting ahead in this business. The business has a feel of being clinical, not very welcoming to new employees at all. The higher-ups participate in gossip about others instead of discouraging it. This is not a very welcoming business at all.
