About Systems Developer

What does a Systems Developer do?

As Systems Developers, we are a type of software developer who develops and implements applications and programs for the processing system used in businesses and organizations. We are responsible for updating and supporting existing software and developing new software applications by writing software or solutions based on detailed requirements needed. Our job is to work with more senior developers to make sure of code alignment with design patterns. Besides that, we work for a backend processing system which is the behind-the-scenes parts of software without a user interface, except for administration purposes. Our job also includes assisting Information Systems Managers with researching new concepts, technologies, and frameworks.

Core tasks:

  • working with department heads and users to analyze, design, and put in place solutions for software
  • discussing client needs and proposed solution with the senior developer and using development tools to write and test code for developing these solutions
  • assisting with performance tuning, usability assessment, and improvement
  • maintaining and understanding compliance with the industry-standard method
