SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Windows System Engineer 3 is responsible for implementing, supporting and maintaining windows server system. This person will analyze and assesses corporate requirements from both an enterprise and departmental perspective; develops and maintains systems based upon those requirements; guides and mentors technical staff in use of windows server operating systems. Partners and collaborates with other infrastructure teams, service management, and information security and applications development teams in the execution of duties.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
System installation: Design, install, and support Microsoft Windows server technologies in a multiple platform environment (VMware, AWS and Dell hardware)
Systems Monitoring and Maintenance: Performs routine configuration changes to support business functions including proactive monitoring and meeting windows operating system upgrades to supported versions
Maintains Windows Systems integrity: Understands the interaction between business applications and the virtualization and shared compute infrastructure to provide optimum performance and problem resolution
Security: Plans and implements secure processes and systems for virtualization, cloud and shared compute infrastructure to maintain compliance with Information Security policies and audit controls.

Actively mentors new or less-experienced Windows administrators
SKILLS, EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree in computer science or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
Current Microsoft Technical Certification or Citrix Certification preferred
Work experience in a medium to large on-premises (Dell Hardware, VMWare vSphere) and cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
Strong working experience with the design, implementation, and administration of Microsoft Windows Server (2008 through 2019), Active Directory (On-Premises and Azure AD), Group Policy, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, and Microsoft 365
Strong working experience with scripting and automation such as PowerShell, Python, or VBScript
Strong working experience with the design, implementation, and administration of Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop, other Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies preferred
Strong understanding of 'Core Services' like but not limited to Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, HTTP/S, Systems Management, Data Backup & Security, etc.
Strong understanding of enterprise networking principles (Load balancing, Firewalls, Subnetting, High Availability) required
Strong understanding of clustering, disaster recovery, implementation, troubleshooting and performance tuning
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently both orally and in writing
Ability to listen effectively
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties including external and internal customers
Strong attention to details and the ability to multi-task effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced 24x7 production environment
Ability to participate in an on-call rotation
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to recognize, analyze and solve problems successfully
