I was fired for what the EDD states as "POOR JOB PERFORMANCE". I was always in early and never violated any policy. I worked past the hours I was scheduled. They fired me right before 90 days so that I couldn't receive benefits. There will be a lawsuit for the actions they took.
Pros and Cons
Free cereal
No parking

My experience with this company in recent months has not been one of the best. However, we did get new managers who either were transfers or promoted from previous positions. The managers in previous weeks have not been supportive to team members who go above and beyond to help the company succeed. If you are doing one thing wrong but a number of other things right you still are doing it wrong. I do not enjoy working for certain managers who genuinely do nothing except boss everyone around, setting high expectations, while being unable to achieve these themselves, posing as leaders when corporate comes to visit. It is all like a big act that I have to deal with.
Pros and Cons
Sometimes free lunch, coworkers are nice
Hours get cut during some seasons (not for the managers though) management does not listen

I understand how the co-worker feels, about some managers. But, I say be the best in everything you do. And take criticism with a blessing smile.

You are always asked to pick up someone else’s slack. With no penalty being placed on the slacker!!!
Work conditions are always unsafe. That is until someone gets a call and then it’s massive clean up time. They need surprise inspections to know what conditions we really work in.
Pros and Cons
a pay check
It’s unsafe and lack of accountability of people not doing their jobs.Make it a total joke.

First they make you think they care about you…
Then they show you they don’t.
It’s really a lot of mind games.

I have been with this company for 2 and a half years. I have to say it has its ups and downs as any workplace does. However, I've come to find this place is very welcoming. As a leader, I make sure to lead how others like to be led. I can really only speak for myself, but even the other management is very positive and understanding. The benefits are great, I actually took advantage of the schooling assistance Target offers. Along with that, they offer so much more. You have to get your voice out and steer clear of any drama. Overall, from a part-time gig to a full-time position you will find your place.
Pros and Cons
Discounts, Benefits
Poor communication

I was in charge of all departments and the pressure from the regional managers at district managers was so much that that is stress involvement so I will not recommend this position to be honest it’s not worth it especially if you have a family maybe if you’re single, but not for a person with family and wife
Pros and Cons
This company has good benefits and you have chances to be promoted depending on your supervisor
No good balance life too much workload responsibilities without support from management

I worked for this company for 14+ years I started off as a cashier, then became team leader for the remainder of my years working for the company, but the overall culture within that store was getting horrible and made it an unpleasant work environment.
Pros and Cons
Flexibility
Poor culture with that store location

I felt like I was the only one who did my job and I did it very good. I did more than my team lead and co workers because my team lead would assign me too and at the end of the day the fired me without even giving me a warning and left me jobless all because I showed up one day 10 minutes late. But I never called out and always came in when called in on my off day and was never told good job. And on top of that they would only give me a 12 cent raise for my department rating and not rating me on my over all performance
Pros and Cons
Free lunch but co worker and even leads were mean
I didn’t feel welcome there and when I got fired and heard the reason I knew I really wasn’t welcome

I have a disability, and by law, employers must accommodate my disability to the best of their ability. So, I have knee and back problems and needed to sit and take rest breaks more than twice a day. At first they were all for it, but they didn't have an elevator so I had to climb the stairs twice a day to clock in/clock out. They gave me a stool but the way the checkout lanes are set up was not conducive to sitting and working. AND I got COVID and they were very upset that I did not come into work that week. Not the best place to work. Could have been the location. The Store Director had it in for me.
Pros and Cons
pay rate was great
they haven't figured out this disability thing.

I worked as a team member in the stockroom overnights for about 1 1/2 years in Fayetteville. I left and then was invited back more than a decade later by a regional manager. I worked in the food and market department my second round and worked for another 1 1/2 years in Nottingham. Each time I enjoyed the motivation my STL, ETL's, and TL's gave me to improve and grow. I also appreciated the positive feedback I received when they noticed my improved and consistent performance. I was only able to see Target from the retail store perspective, but based on that alone, it's a good company to get some retail experience and work on developing your a customer service/servant leadership mentality.
Pros and Cons
Team outreach (food drives, community outreaches etc), schedule flexibility
very difficult to be promoted past TL (team lead) if you don't have a college diploma

I was employed at target for 15 years. I started November 2000 As a softlines team member at the Arvada location on 80th and Wadsworth. I transferred to the Colorado Mills location in 2002 where I was promoted to Jewelry specialist. Then in 2005 I was promoted As a Starbucks team lead, and I was in that position for two years. I missed working on the sales floor so much, so I transferred back to softlines as the Ready To Wear (RTW) Team Lead. Finally in 2014 I am moved to my final position in Hardlines, which was the Seasonal Team Lead!
Pros and Cons
Opportunity for Growth & Development.

Operations managers have no support from HR. It is very difficult to manage employees when you are not able to let go of people who simply cannot perform. Salaries are very low relative to the amount of work Ops Mgrs are expected to perform.

Colorado Springs, CO - December 29, 2022
The entire time I worked there, all they cared about was making sure they got people to sign up for their credit card. They would fire cashiers rapidly if they did not get a bunch or Red Cards. They do not care about your livelihood. They incentivize guests who are rude and brash by giving in to their demands and give them discounts. They ignore the people who are kind and should be given discounts. Not to mention, you’re totally ignored if you’re not white.
Pros and Cons
10% Discount, better than Wal-mart
Horrible leadership, cares more for guests than employees, subpar pay/benefits, nepotism/favoritism

Raises come once a year and are usually under 40 cents no matter what department u work in when being a team member.
I started off at $15 per hr in 2021.
Market/ Food & Beverage consists of just filling up the shelves and throwing expired items and defective products away properly.
Most schedule changes or work related activities can be accessed at the job site on a computer or your hand held device. Make sure u ask ur leads questions. U will be required to carry a device and walkie. This store had barely and walkies and lots of the devices had defective batteries.
They tend to vaguely time you/demand a timeframe. Which honestly is almost never met starting off as a new hire. They tend to understand just be honest.
Pros and Cons
45 min lunch, friendly environment, work with your schedule
Discounts are mediocre, raises are minor/ pointless, usually heavy workload

I was recruited by Target based on my leadership experience. Offered a very competitive salary and benefits that started on day one. However, in this role your always struggling to hire people. Staff(Payroll) are already super tight. I worked at a Super Target with large food areas(perishable teams) as well as Grocery. Because of constant staffing issues, all of the product would not get ran from the truck to the sales floor during the team members shifts and if anything was left, I had to stay and work until all the truck was finished. 55-60 hour weeks and just sucked the life out of me! My store had a Starbucks and Pizza Hut and if there was a call out, I had to barista or make pizzas, while also being expected to run the store during my shift. If you have another choice I would really consider it. Do your homework before you accept any job but big box retail management is shit

the manager was a disgusting impolite person, he would only want us to work and work and work while he just sat at his desk. he was so lazy but then he got shocked because he actually let us keep hard working ourselves until one of my friends lost herslef and fell of of a ladder and well never woke up. i am hoping that this job won't be an impolite and lazy type of job. i'm hoping that everyone gets along as co-workers and that the manager will be a polite person.

No chance of being promoted from an hourly position to a salaried position. A lot of gaslighting from store leadership. Bonus money only for the highest paid not the team members who do most of the work. The few chosen for the bench during the interview process have an easy path to doubling their pay and don't have to work the way the rest of the team does.
Pros and Cons
Employee discount on most items
Low pay, no room for advancement, high turnover rate

The pay was not bad for a starting job. I was undertrained and pretty much learned as I went. I thought my job was going to have at least one more other person to help me in it but I was doing everything in tech solo. Good salary but the experience wasn't very good. Managers were okay, but if you ask them for requests like changing your schedule, don't expect it to push through.

I really enjoyed working at Target, doing the type of work that o was doing, I'm diagnosed with anxiety & it really helped me not have any anxiety attacks or stress me out to much to were my anxiety wasn't even a issue. What really help was my supervisor who let us listen to music if we were in the backroom packing the orders to get then ready for shipping. Thats really helped, as ling as we only had on one earbud in he didn't mind if we listening to misuc while we were boxing the items for customers online orders. It was honestly ann ideal job for me. I loved it so much. It makes me sad to remember that i had to quit volunteeringly due to my personal life interfering with my job at that time.
