About Technical Director

What does a Technical Director do?

As Technical directors, we work alongside team members to develop plans, work schedules, and targets. We analyze operations and provide cost-effective suggestions for improvement. We assist with the training and recruitment of new staff members. We liaising with clients, managers, and other stakeholders. We update work schedules and adjust targets as required. We address performance issues and schedule meetings when required. Motivating and inspiring staff members when tight deadlines approach is also part of our responsibilities.

Core tasks:

  • oversee the audio and visual production process
  • design, set up, and operate sound and lighting equipment for projects
  • provide technical support for productions, programs, and events
  • support and advise the technical and sales teams on financial needs
  • work with the Director to oversee the completion of projects
  • ensure fulfillment of all technical needs
  • provide accurate equipment costs and setup time estimates
  • work with the design team to come up with technical drawings of scenes
