Technical Sales Support Specialist - Flow Instrumentation job

ABB's instrumentation product line includes flow instrumentation to measure fluid movement in process applications. Our product line is the most complete on the market and includes the following technologies: Electromagnetic, Swirl and Vortex, Coriolis, Differential Pressure, Variable Area and Thermal Mass. Our customer base includes: Water and Waste Water, Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Fine Chemicals, Power Generation, Food & Beverage, and Pulp & Paper. Customer types include: end users, engineering firms, system integrators and OEMs. ABB Inc., is currently seeking a Technical Sales Support Specialist for its location based out at Warminster,Pennsylvania . This position must sit in Warminster PA working remotely is not an option. The responsibilities include to provide application and post sale support to our customer base via phone and/or other electronic communication methods . The primary function is to provide assistance to our customer base and sales channels to aid in their application and use of our flow products. As part of a team, your group will be the first line technical support for our customers and sales force. Typical customer requests include: help with proper wiring and programming instructions, aid with product selection based on a customer's specific application and troubleshooting of installations that are not providing the desired outputs. The successful candidate would become one of the primary knowledge base for the practical application and maintenance of our flow products. You will work closely with our Customer Support, Product Management, and Engineering Groups to ensure our customer's success with our instrumentation products. Most of the assistance is provided via telephone in response to a customer inquiry. Occasionally, very light travel to customer sites may be required. .

Tasks:

Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Assist our customers and sales representatives by phone, email, or instant messaging with the application, and optimum product selection of ABB's flow instrumentation.

* Provide post-sales product support and troubleshooting services to end-users via phone, e-mail, or instant messaging via the ABB Warminster PA center .

* Develop application notes, technical bulletins, and other tools to allow others solve common product troubleshooting or proper selection issues.

* Participate in the development and presentation of technical product training sessions to share specific installation and application knowledge throughout the organization.

* Provide feedback to internal Quality and Product Management groups regarding the frequency and nature of the incoming inquires.

* Participate in the review and development of product instruction manuals.

* Communicate with other ABB Application Engineers (US and global) to share best practices and expand the technical knowledge base.

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

* Four year accredited degree and 2 years of related work experience with Instrumentation or process control related products. .. else 4 years of same experience with AS degree .. else 6 years of same experience with HS or GED equivalence .

ALTERNATIVELY .. this position may be hired at a more Senior Level meeting with the below requirements:

Four Year accredited degree and 5 years of related work experience with Instrumentation or process control related products. .. else 7 years of same experience with AS degree .. else 9 years of same experience with HS or GED equivalence .

Preferred Qualifications:

* BS degree in an Engineering or technical field along with service, sales, or application engineering instrumentation flow and/or other measurement analytical automation / industrial products.

* Knowledge of industrial process control, process measurements, and/or general instrumentation background would be helpful.

* Experience troubleshooting products over the phone with customers is a plus.

* Understand the basic use of electrical test equipment (i.e. digital voltmeters, etc.)

* An understanding of or experience servicing our primary customer's production processes is desirable (Water and Waste Water, Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Fine Chemicals, Power Generation, Food & Beverage, and Pulp & Paper)

* Experience troubleshooting products over the phone with customers is a plus.

* Understand the basic use of electrical test equipment (i.e. digital voltmeters, etc.)

* Basic computer skills: MS Office, use of internet-based systems and use of internally developed software tools.

* Candidate with work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the United States without future visa assistance.
