About Technical Support Analyst

What does a Technical Support Analyst do?

As Technical Support Analysts, we provide front-line IT support to all customers. We answer support tickets and assist with whatever technical issues the client may be facing. We travel to the client’s location and sort out hardware and peripheral issues. We connect via remote login to solve minor software problems. We identify and solve technical issues on-site and via remote access.

Core tasks:

  • respond to technical support tickets
  • talk to the customer to determine the nature of the technical issue
  • connect to the customer’s computer system via remote access
  • travel to the customer’s office or server location for hardware and network malfunctions
  • identify the nature of the hardware, software, or networking issue
  • provide the customer with resolution choices
  • install software upgrades, new hardware systems, or networking cables
  • fix any software or hardware issues
  • provide minor technical or operational training
  • complete IT support logs
