About Technical Support Specialist

What does a Technical Support Specialist do?

In the role of a Technical Support Specialist, we install and configure new technology for the company such as operating systems, hardware, and programs or applications. We give regular maintenance to existing hardware and computer systems. Providing assistance to company staff and clients with technology-related issues is also a part of our responsibility. We run diagnostics on malfunctioning hardware and software. We write reports on the status of all hardware and software in the company. We run security checks on all systems and conduct electrical safety tests on all systems.

Core tasks:

  • understand the issue and its cause, solve the problem
  • troubleshoot systems and applications
  • find solutions for any issue and implement it
  • replace malfunctioning and damaged parts on hardware when necessary
  • order new parts when out of stock
  • evaluate new applications and operative systems
  • set up profiles, emails, and issue access passes for new employees
  • assist in all password-related issues
