Upon leaving training you are thrust into the fire. Coaching by the supervisors is non existent. You are not coached at all. You are merely scolded and left to go and make the same mistake again It would be an excellent place to work if the supervisors are better trained on how to actually coach a new hire

The company is good not the best but the management has ruined it. They have zero understanding of differentiating between good and bad employees. Every manager thinks they are Elon Musk. Management is unreachable. They have zero recognition for employees that really bust their ass. They have zero value for their employees, everyone is expandable. You make one small mistake even if it’s not your fault you will be fired. Management will make sudden changes and if it doesn’t go as planned some low level employee who bust their ass will get fired for no reason.

The amount of hours don't equal the pay! If you are someone who likes to go to work and come home, not the place for you. Tesla views themselves and it's employees as a family however if you don't fall in line and kiss butt so to speak then they will stalk and harass you! I equate it to slave labor!

I liked working at Tesla Motors, but it could be a very hostile environment. Let me explain, if you are a contractor worker(agency)the supervisor will set you for failure by not training you properly, attitude is cold, and lie on you on job reports to management. But other than that it could a wonderful place to work at.

Pros and Cons
You can accomplish your goals in life like buying a house ,new car and support yourself.
It could be hard to keep balance in your life working at Tesla Motors, sleep and time.

When I started working at Tesla it was fun and great place to work but, as the years progressed it became apparent that thing were out of control. Teams fighting with other teams, associated acting out with no one; not even the Supervisors or AMs were stepping up to the plate to rectify the issues. If the issues were rectified, favoritism had a role in the decision making. Thievery and drug use are everywhere. Even though I was on the Global Shipping Team, we were abandoned and left to fix our own issues and only deemed a necessity if they felt like we were needed, given a common response of "Your team is strong, no-one needs to watch you" as we are getting stepped on by Production and Material teams. High lack of communication between teammates, decisions being made causing disarray within the team and shipments being delayed by months due to sudden changes due to poor virtual transaction being done in secret; causing the logistics team to struggle with fixing the issues.

Supervisor only went on the line when there was an issue, and he always wore a scowl. No recognition for hard work. Employees were treated poorly, as they’re seen as disposable. Favoritism was shown, and some employees did absolutely nothing while others worked hard to do their job well. I was once moved by my team lead after I had to go to my supervisor after she didn’t address an issue she said she would. Safety concerns were an issue and weren’t corrected unless/until someone was injured, myself included.

If you're not male, white or Indian (from India), lacking any physical disabilities, or not heterosexual, don't work here. I have a 15 page report documenting all sorts of discrimination that I can send to anyone who wants it. Tesla fired me because apparently I'm a jerk for thinking my qualifications should matter more than my gender, or that people of color shouldn't be harassed, or that trans people should be respected. They will even dismiss faulty robots that can cause injury or have caused injury if your demographic is not acceptable enough to report a problem.

I started off as a material handler back in 2017 in receiving department . I was promoted to invenory specialist one year later. The position is a combination of knowing inbound receiving and outbound shipping and picking parts.I did not recieve a pay increase only a title change. They terminated and recycled the supervisors and manager who would give you a pay increase. As i started with the first group of ten individuals when this site opened in lathrop I was denied lead and supervisor positions once the company expanded and reached over 1000 employees for the lathrop location. Instead they choose to pick their leader from individuals with no experience or know nothing of inbound or picking parts at tesla. Everyone from that group of ten eventually resiegned including myself. If you dont mind training new employees or tesla employees from different city locations on how to be your boss then this job is for you.

Pros and Cons
Great benefits as far as health, vision, and dental. Rare amount of paid time off and sick leave.
Will not be promoted to higher deserved position unless the mangager pr supervisor likes you
