Texas Tech University is a public research university located in Lubbock, Texas, United States and was established on February 10, 1969. The university offers degrees in more than 150 courses of study through 13 colleges and hosts 60 research centers and institutes, along with that since 1927 it has awarded over 200,000 degrees including over 40,000 graduate and professional degrees. The Lubbock campus is home to the main academic university, law school and medical school and it is one of the two institutions to have a graduate school on its main campus in Texas. The university was recognised with a Carnegie very High Research Activity designation in December 2018, reaffirming its first appearance among the nations top doctoral universities in 2015.
