The Asia foundation is a nonprofit international development organization committed to improving lives across a dynamic and developing Asia. An increasingly complex and changing world, a peaceful and engaged Asia matters. They are an international NGO working on Asia’s most critical issues in country and regionally. The foundation was established in 1954 is headquartered in San Francisco, California. Informed by six decades of experience and deep local expertise, our work across the region addresses five overarching goals-strengthen governance, empower women, expand economic opportunity, increase environmental resilience, and promote international cooperation. The Asia Foundation works through a network of 18 offices in 18 Asian countries and in Washington, DC. The Asia Foundation works with local leaders and communities to build effective institutions and advance reforms.
